Call for nominees 

Hello fellow Independent Archivists! 

Are you looking for a way to give back to the SAA? Want to affect change from within? Don't have a lot of time to spend but want to participate on the national level? The Independent Archivists Steering Committee is looking for you! 

We are looking for people to run for:

Vice Chair/Chair elect: 

• 3 year term; one year a as vice chair, one as chair, and one as immediate past chair

• take point on running meetings, liaise with SAA on behalf of the group

Two members-at-large:  

• One member at large (class B), 2-year term

• One member at large (class A), 3-year term

• assist Chairs in planning section events, activities, and other section business as needed

Web Liaison

• 3-year term

• maintain and collaborate on the Independent Archivists Section microsite

• ensure the use of various communication modes to communicate with the Section membership about news and events.

The steering committee meets by phone or videoconference in addition to emailing between meetings. Your overall time commitment averages out to less than an hour a month. Joining our committee is a great way to dip your toe in the water of archival leadership!

Attendance to the annual meeting is NOT a requirement.
