On behalf of NEDCC, I am pleased to share two grant-funded projects that benefit the archives community!

California: The "Ready-Or Not" Cultural Heritage Disaster Preparedness Project, sponsored by the California State Library, offers no-cost emergency preparedness evaluations for cultural heritage institutions such as libraries, archives, museums, tribal organizations, and historical societies across California. Over the past year, the "Ready – Or Not" team has conducted over 200 assessments and aims to cover the following counties in the upcoming year: Sierra, Modoc, Mono, Trinity, Plumas, Del Norte, Lassen, San Benito, Tehama, Yuba, Sutter, Kings, San Luis Obispo, Merced, and Fresno. Please help spread the word about this free opportunity for an emergency preparedness assessment! Learn more at nedcc.org/CAReady.

HBCU Radio Preservation Project Public Kick-Off Meeting: Join us for a virtual celebration of the HBCU Radio Preservation Project funded by the Mellon Foundation! This project works alongside HBCU radio stations and archives to preserve historical broadcast media. The kick-off meeting on February 1st will cover how the grant supports hands-on training in collection assessments and audio preservation. Register in advance here.
