Good day, International Archival Affairs Section (IAAS) members and all of SAA!
On behalf of the entire Section Steering Committee, I would like to announce some recent changes in section leadership.
Last fall, we bid a bittersweet farewell to Dr. James Lowry, who resigned as Section Senior Co-Chair. Over several years, he has proven himself to be invaluable not only to the Section but to the Society and the profession as a whole.
We are pleased to report that he will still be involved with the popular Archival Landscapes seminar series.
We are indebted to Dr. Lowry for his generous stewardship of the Section over many years.
Ellen Engseth, our elected Junior co-chair, will remain as co-chair for this year. This situation will be in place until the Section Steering Committee leadership elections are held in the summer of this year.
In good news, we are welcoming two Early Career members who have recently joined the Steering Committee; they are Rachel Poppen, an MSIS candidate at the University of Texas at Austin, and Jennifer Dantchev, a graduate student at Long Island University working towards her MSLIS with a concentration in Rare Book and Special Collections.
The Steering Committee leadership welcomed them officially at the December 2022 Steering Committee meeting.
Thank you to all of the current two hundred thirteen (213) IAAS members and here's to a wonderful 2023 for everyone!
Sincerely,
Karen
