I'm pleased to announce the election results for the steering committee of the SAA's International Archival Affairs Section.
Committee member Ellen Engseth, Curator, Immigration History Research Center Archives and Head, Migration and Social Services Collections, University of Minnesota, will replace me as junior co-chair.
Karen Trivette, Professor, Head of Special Collections and College Archives, Gladys Marcus Library, State University of New York, Fashion Institute of Technology, New York, will join us as a new committee member.
You can read more about Ellen and Karen below.
Kate Blalack continues as a committee member, and I've assumed the role of senior co-chair. Many thanks to outgoing senior co-chair Natalie Baur and outgoing committee member Brad Bauer for all their work for the section over recent years.
Today the committee met with our new SAA Council Liaison Lydia Tang, who replaces Mario Ramirez in that role. Thank you for your work, Mario, and welcome Lydia! We discussed a number of exciting initiatives, including the continuation of our Archival Landscapes seminar series, possible collaborations within SAA and beyond, and policy and advocacy interventions. Please look out for a brief member survey in the next month or so, because we are eager to hear your thoughts about the direction and priorities for the section.
All best,
James Lowry

Karen's Biography:
I have thoroughly honed my leadership skills over the course of my
involvement with SAA [College and University Archives Section Chair,
2021-2022; American Archivist journal Editorial Board member
(2016-2020) and special issue Guest Editor (2021); Archives Leadership
Institute graduate, 2018] and the Archivists Round Table of
Metropolitan New York, Inc. (President, 2017-2018). In addition, I have presented at symposia, conferences, and other

professionally stimulated by international influences. This is also
made evident by my pursuing my PhD in Archival Science from Alma Mater
Europaea/University of Maribor, Slovenia, which I aim to complete by
2024. Lastly, I have had the great fortune to publish in international
journals such as the International Journal of Fashion Studies and the
scientific journal, Atlanti+. I have also twice contributed to
