The Center for Digital Humanities (CDH) and Mississippi Digital Humanities Hub are currently accepting applications for the position of manager of the CDH and Hub. This is a grant-funded, full-time staff position in the School of Humanities. The posting closes on Monday, June 9, 2025.
The manager will help support and expand the initiatives of the CDH, working closely with its director, including consulting with faculty and students on the use of CDH resources for research and classroom, assisting with design/consultation work for USM and regional repositories, supporting CDH outreach efforts across the state, and assisting with CDH fundraising efforts. As part of their role in the CDH, this position also manages the Mississippi Digital Humanities Hub, which includes coordinating and hiring staff, guiding statewide outreach, and managing day-to-day finances.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in humanities, business administration, or related field and at least one year of experience in the digital humanities, project, or grant management, and some understanding of DH software/applications or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in a humanities or related field or certificate in Digital Humanities, experience using free open-source software/applications for digital projects, and experience with several of the following: digital documentary editing, data curation, data visualizations, text mining, podcasting, and/or digital publishing.
