Looking to to breathe new life into your collections?

Every Friday I hold free, informal office hours for nonprofits and community groups to share my expertise. These are 15–60 minute conversations to review your work and think through possibilities together. I love to learn about the kinds of questions archives are facing with respect to computational and digital work.

I'm an oral historian and digital humanist specializing in using computational methods to make archives more navigable, inclusive, and beautiful. I formerly led digital projects at the Columbia Center for Oral History Research, where I produced the Obama Presidency Oral History and Baldwin-Emerson Elders Project digital archives.

Kinds of questions folks ask at my office hours:

    • How do I turn my data into an interactive map? Timeline?
    • How can AI help me wrangle, extract, or re-organize my metadata?
    • How do I make my interviews, documents, and images more navigable? Searchable?
    • What should I look for in a web development partner or digital vendor?
    • How do I make my digital exhibitions more appealing? More usable?

To schedule an appointment, visit my website's Office Hours page.
