Dear Colleagues,
The User Experience Section is seeking nominations for the following three positions:
-
The Vice Chair/Chair-Elect is a three-year term, serving the first year as Vice Chair, the second year as Chair, and the third as Immediate Past Chair. The Vice Chair assists the Chair in conducting section business. The Vice Chair becomes the Chair of the section in the second year of the term. With the advice and assistance of the steering committee, the Chair presides over steering committee and section meetings, directs section activities, appoints liaisons, and submits a final annual section report to SAA Council following the end of their term as Chair. The Chair remains on the steering committee for a third year, in the role of Past-Chair as a facilitator, but does not lead the committee.
-
Two Members-at-Large positions. Members-at-Large serve a two-year term, participate in steering committee meetings, and provide input, and general support to the Section Steering Committee. They may be assigned to specific tasks as needed by the Chair. There are at least two Members-at-Large at all times, serving staggered terms.
To learn more about these positions, please see the Section's Standing Rules.
In the 2025-2026 year, the Section will be focusing on collaborations with other sections and subcommittees for programming and to continue to create resources/ a toolkit for facilitating User Experience research in the field. The Section will also continue to identify multiple ways to encourage member involvement and provide platforms for information sharing. This is a great time to get involved if you are especially interested in making it easier to be an effective archival practitioner and researcher.
Please feel free to contact the Steering Committee with any questions. We welcome and encourage self-nominations.
If interested, please submit the following by Friday, May 23, to the UX Section Steering Committee at saa.uxsteering@gmail.com. A reminder that Steering Committee candidates must be SAA members.
Best regards,
User Experience Section Steering Committee
