The College & University Archives Section Steering Committee invites you to join us for our next coffee chat! We will meet on July 13th, 2022, at 12pm CST, 1pm EST. Please see below for the link to the chat.
This month, we welcome Stephanie Collier and April Anderson-Zorn, who will discuss their work on creating Wikipedia pages for underrepresented archivists. Their work, funded by a 2019-2020 SAA Foundation grant, created many new Wikipedia pages for women and BIPOC archivists. The work was not easy as the team experienced numerous instances of bias from the Wikipedia community. Collier and Anderson-Zorn will discuss the project, the struggles, the wins, and the next steps in their ongoing mission to create diversity and representation for archivists on Wikipedia and similar platforms.
We welcome all sections to join us! In our two years of chats, we have learned many lessons, not the least of which is that archives practice truly transcends section boundaries. We have experienced much-added value when non-C&UA section members have contributed. Whether you want to contribute or simply listen in, we're happy to hear from all members.
