The Diverse Sexuality and Gender Section celebrates Pride in the Archives. We invite all of you to participate in this celebration through the following activities

1-Learn about the Shoulders to Stand On initiative (STSO) in Rochester, New York. Our newly elected Junior Co-chair, Ron Martin-Dent, shares his experience managing an LGBTQ+ collection in a mid-sized city public library in the latest post on our blog, Archives In Rainbow.

2-Read the articles on LGBTQ+ archives in the two most recent issues of Archival Outlook: "In Awe of Care", by Emily Hardman (May/June issue); "Hosting a Queer Artists + Archives Symposium at UMBC", by Lindsay Loeper and Beth Saunders; and "Theory Versus Practice: My Experience as a FOCAS Intern", by Eric Reed (March/April issue).

3-Reviiew the 2026 Section Annual Meeting via the video recording, available on the SAA YouTube channel and SAA's PathLMS and enojy the presentations by Gabriella Garcia, Ron Martin-Dent and Isaac Fellman with the title "Queer Complexities: Describing LGBTQ+ Archival Materials."
