Archives Against Erasure: The NYC Trans Archives
Celebrate Archives Month with the co-founders and members of the NYC Trans Archives, a newly established archives devoted to preserving the history and culture of transgender people and communities. We'll talk about the urgent need to provide access to personal papers, photographs, and zines by and about gender-diverse people. Panelists will discuss the NYCTA's emerging ethos of community-based archiving, and the early stages of setting up this unique repository. Panelists will also draw from their own scholarship about trans history, including recent book projects and an assessment of nonbinary literature. Following an engaging panel discussion, archivists from the Eberly Family Special Collections Library will moderate a Q&A session.
We hope you can join us!
