Dear colleagues,
We are looking for folks to join the UX Section Steering Committee! We have two spots open due to some changes of responsibility, and are looking for folks who might want to self-nominate (or nominate a willing member) to join for this year. The Steering Committee is currently organized in a flat structure as we finalize our Standing Rules. The new members will join the Committee for a single year term (through August 2024) until we can hold regular annual elections in accordance with SAA's timeline.
The Steering Committee meets monthly, and our goals for the year are to get our Standing Rules in place and continue to develop this group, with ideas for reading groups and topical sub-groups as suggested areas for growth. The UX Section would like to establish an inclusive Steering Committee whose members reflect a wide range of institutions in terms of size and type and whose members themselves are diverse. We encourage those who identify as members of underrepresented or marginalized communities or those who work at non-academic or smaller repositories to self-nominate.
Please reach out to one of the Committee members if you are interested or would like to nominate someone!
Best,
UX Section Steering Committee
