The Descriptive Notes editorial team is circling back to our History and Heritage Month series to celebrate and bring awareness to the diversity of the history documented in our archival collections. This is an ongoing annual series.
Right now, we are soliciting posts for upcoming History and Heritage Months, including Black History Month (February), Women's History Month (March), and Deaf History Month (March-April). We invite colleagues to submit articles related to descriptive projects that relate to the themes of these and other heritage months. We will be accelerating our standard editorial schedule to accommodate posts on these topics.
As this is an ongoing series, we will be issuing periodic calls throughout the year for upcoming History and Heritage Month content. In the coming months, we welcome posts on Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month (May), LGBTQIA+ Pride Month (June), Disability Pride Month (July), Hispanic Heritage Month (September-October), Native American and Alaska Native Heritage Month (November), and others.
