    Posted Oct 03, 2025 04:47 PM

Are you an archives student or new archives professional with a story you want to share about your educational journey? We want to hear from you!

We are currently seeking submissions for the SAA SNAP Blog's Student Experiences series. We are excited to refresh this series with new voices and stories about how archival education is shaping emerging professionals.

When you reflect on your archives education, what class, project, or learning experience has had the most impact on you?

    • Did you take a class that was a turning point for you or particularly memorable in your archival education?
    • Did you have an assignment that was challenging but helped you grow in unexpected ways?
    • Have you noticed gaps or challenges in archival education/training programs that you feel should be addressed?
    • What learning experience most prepared you for the archival field?
    • Do you have a project or paper that you are particularly proud of?

If you would like to write about a different topic that you feel would resonate with students and new archives professionals, please feel free to pitch it to us! Check out our existing blog series and let us know if there are any you'd like to contribute to, or if you have an idea for something new.

Submissions are expected to be between 250-800 words. Please review our submission guidelines as you prepare your blog post. Please submit to newarchivistsrt@gmail.com by Monday, November 3, 2025

If you have questions or would like to discuss your idea with the blog editors, please reach out to us at newarchivistsrt@gmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
