    Colleagues,

Representatives from the four SUNY Research Centers invite digital repository practitioners to participate in Advancing Digital Repositories in New York State: A Collaborative Strategic Design, a structured, community-driven effort to develop a shared strategic framework for publicly funded digital repositories in New York State.

This program brings together practitioners working in archives and special collections, institutional and open access repositories, research data repositories, digital preservation, metadata, repository development, and related areas. Rather than focusing on specific technologies or platforms, participants will work collaboratively to identify repository functions, explore relationships across repository domains, and develop a common framework to support future planning, collaboration, and development.

We welcome interest from practitioners both within and outside New York State, though participation will be weighted toward New York State practitioners and members of underrepresented groups.

Participants invited to the virtual cohort will be asked to attend four online sessions held on the mornings of November 2nd, 5th, 9th, and 12th, 2026. Following the virtual sessions, these same participants may express interest in a smaller in-person working group that will meet in Albany, NY in early 2027, with travel support provided for selected participants.

Additional information, FAQs, and the expression of interest form are available on the CFP website.

The deadline to express interest is August 14, 2026.

    Best,

    Greg
