    Approved in 2018, the Guidelines for Primary Source Literacy are currently due for five year review. The Reference, Access, and Outreach (RAO) Section of the Society of American Archivists (SAA) is seeking nominees to fill at least 5-6 appointed seats on the Guidelines for Primary Source Literacy Review Committee. Nominees with experience teaching with primary sources (TPS) in a wide range of educational environments including college, university, K-12 schools, public libraries, historical societies, museums, and other cultural organizations are all welcome. 

    The committee will work together as a task force alongside members from RBMS* to:

    •     follow best practices for standards reviews established by both SAA and RBMS;
    •     seek feedback from a broad range of TPS fields and perspectives;
    •     communicate progress and share drafts in professional forums throughout the review process;
    •     collaborate with other TPS organizations. 

    It is expected that the review will span 2-3 years of service. Volunteers should be fully committed to service for the duration of the review and have the ability to prioritize review work in their schedule.
