Dear SAA Membership,
The International Archival Affairs Section (IAAS) is a small but mighty section looking for enthusiastic leaders who are willing to take on existing projects and initiate new ones relevant to our section's goals. Nominees must be current members of SAA. We are looking to fill three positions, all of which will begin in the fall on 9/1/2026.
We are accepting nominations/volunteers for the following open leadership roles:
- Junior Co-Chair for a 2-year term (first year as Junior Co-Chair, second year as Senior Co-Chair)
- This section leader will be responsible for running our yearly Archival Vistas Seminar Series (3 per year) and helping the Senior Co-Chair with a wide range of important section activities. This position automatically cycles into the Senior Co-Chair position the following year.
- One Member-at-Large for a 3-year term
- This section leader is responsible for a variety of section business activities in partnership with our other two Members-at-Large. Work can include managing existing projects and/or spearheading new ones.
- One Early-Career Member for a 1-year term*
- This position is best suited for a student or recent graduate. This member will assist in a variety of section business activities.
*Early-Career Members are chosen by the IAAS section leadership.
The last day for nominations is April 30th!

We will notify membership once SAA staff have created the ballots for the two open leadership roles.
The Early-Career Member will be chosen by the existing IAAS section leadership once the nomination period ends and will be notified via email by May 29th.
