The Accessibility & Disability Section has open leadership positions! We are currently accepting nominations (self-nominations welcome!) and volunteers for the following four positions:
Open Positions:
- Junior Co-Chair (3-year term, year one as Junior Co-Chair, year two Senior Co-Chair, year three as Immediate Past-Chair)
This position will serve as Junior Co-Chair for one year before transitioning to Chair for the 2027–2028 term. The Junior Co-Chair supports the Senior Co-Chair and collaborates on programming and strategic priorities. This position automatically cycles into the Senior Co-Chair position the following year.
- Steering Committee Members (2 positions, 2-year terms)
Steering Committee members contribute to the direction and activities of the section, including program development, communications and blog posts, and member engagement.
- Early Career Member (appointed position, 1-year term)
This role is designed for students or recent graduates interested in becoming more involved with SAA and the Accessibility & Disability Section. The Early Career Member contributes to section initiatives while gaining leadership experience and mentorship. Note: This role will be selected by the ADS Steering Committee.
Who Should Apply:
We encourage nominations from individuals with an interest in accessibility, disability advocacy, inclusive design, and equitable archival practice. Self-nominations are strongly encouraged.

Nominations are due April 30th Final ballot information will be sent to SAA by May 1. Ballots open for voting on June 1.
