Dear Colleagues,
We are conducting a survey titled "Archival Debt Survey" and invite your participation. The deadline has been extended to Friday, March 6th. This survey is designed to learn about archival workers’ experiences with archival debt, a concept defined by SAA as “the burden on archival workers and repositories resulting from previous decisions and practices.” The survey asks some basic questions about your job and your workplace, then asks more specifics about how you feel archival debt impacts various aspects of your job and your institution’s staffing and workplace culture.
There are 24 questions, mostly multiple choice with some spaces for free text responses. It should take around 5-10 minutes to complete. All questions are optional.
Estimated completion time: 10-20 minutes. Please complete the survey by March 6th, 2026.
