Please Join the Society of American Archivists Manuscripts Repositories Section for another session of our Lunch and Learn series: Tools and Tips to Help you Control your Collections' Environment

Overview: This presentation will be a brief review of the tools and communications needed to protect your collections and have a successful relationship with facilities servicers in order to provide the best environment possible for collections and staff. This will include standard monitoring needs of paper based and AV materials, picking appropriate monitoring systems for environmental and security concerns, and general use/maintenance of monitors. There will be time for questions and discussion at the end of the presentation.
Presenter: Whitney Miller is a processing archivist at Michigan State University; she has been at the University Archives since 1998. In addition to processing, she represents the university on the campus emergency action team and coordinates department contact with the University's Infrastructure Planning & Facilities (IPF) Services. She has been the office coordinator for many building projects, big and small. This includes emergency response and repairs for damage caused by natural disasters, building age, building improvements and routine maintenance.
