The deadline to apply to be part of the 2025-2026 cohort of SAA Career Services Commons Career Counselor is next Tuesday, January 7, 2025 (which is plenty of time to apply to be part of this rewarding professional activity!)
The Career Services Commons is now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 cohort of Career Counselors. The Career Services Commons is now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 cohort of Career Counselors. Please consider contributing to our profession by applying to volunteer with the Career Services Commons. As a Career Counselor, you'll have the opportunity to offer guidance and support to other professionals.
Applications will be accepted through Tuesday, January 7th, 2025. Applicants will be notified of results in early February and should be prepared to begin their year-long terms in March 2025.
Guidelines:
- Applicants must have worked in the archives field for at least three (3) years and should be SAA members in good standing.
- SAA Career Counselors will serve year-long terms with the possibility of renewal.
- Counselors will be expected to commit a minimum of three (3) hours per month on a flexible schedule and will conduct mock interviews and interview presentation practice, resume review sessions, and career advising sessions. Sessions are virtual, one-on-one appointments, and last from thirty minutes to one hour.
