    Posted Oct 04, 2024 04:49 PM

Good morning, everyone – Please pardon any cross postings!  I want to alert you to a new workflow for American Archivist.  We are beginning a trial period for a Submissions Window workflow process this fall, for submissions for the 88:2 (Fall/Winter 2025) of American Archivist.  The rationale and the full timeline for this trial period can be found here: https://www2.archivists.org/american-archivist/submissionswindow

Please note that this process will be flexible and it will take a bit of time to implement!  If you have an article currently in the submissions process, we will keep working through it as usual.  I am finalizing content for 88:1, and beginning with the submissions window this fall we will be gathering content for 88:2 (Fall/Winter 2025).  The formal submissions window is January 1 – February 15, 2025. You will see calls for submissions and multiple announcements of our new workflow in upcoming editions of The Loop, as well as on various lists. We will be evaluating this process throughout the trial period.

You can find all of our guidelines for Submissions on the American Archivist home page: https://meridian.allenpress.com/american-archivist

Thanks to the Editorial Board and to the Publications team at SAA for their hard work for the benefit of American Archivist, and thanks to you all for your ongoing support.

    Best wishes,

    Amy
