    Posted 21 hours ago

    Dear Colleagues,

SAA's America250 Task Force presented an update on our project, 250 for the 250th, at the annual meeting in New Orleans last week. The response was very positive and we heard from many people who would still like to submit an item to the repository.

As a result, we are extending the deadline to August 15, 2026

If you would like to participate, please send me an email directly at sarahnquigley@gmail.com and I will send you a link to submit.

I would love to add at least 25 more items to the repository in the next two weeks.

You can explore the repository here: https://bit.ly/4fQCgds

The Society of American Archivists (SAA) America 250 Task Force presents 250 for the 250th, an online repository that tells the story of our country in documents. Sourced from institutions across the United States and internationally, the collection aims to highlight the full range of America's documentary heritage and the role archives have played in preserving and understanding our history. Submissions are organized according to the following themes and categories: Unfinished Revolutions, Power of Place, We the People American Experiment, Doing History, and Regional Collections. With generous support from Preservica, the 250 for the 250th initiative extends beyond the celebrations in 2026 to provide a substantial and enduring archival resource available to all.

If you have any questions about submitting, feel free to contact me directly.

    Best,
