  • 1.  SAA Mentors Needed!

    Posted Jan 15, 2021 03:53 PM

    Dear colleagues,

The Society of American Archivists' Mentoring Program is currently seeking additional mentoring volunteers! The Mentoring Program connects participants with shared interests in various aspects of the archival profession. The goal is to cultivate career development and communication between members with areas of expertise and members who want to build their knowledge within those areas.

Think you don't have any expertise to share? Some of our colleagues waiting for mentors are just getting started in the profession and are looking for advice on schools, classes, career trajectory, resume development and interviewing skills.

We currently have people waiting for mentors who meet some of the following criteria:

    • Are located in the following areas: DMV (DC, Maryland, Northern Virginia), the Northeast, or the Southeast
    • Expertise in the following areas: Digital archives, Digital preservation, Archival processing, Consulting/Freelance work, Continuing education and training, and Supervision and management
    • Experience working in Government archives or Medical or Science archives

Please consider signing up to be a mentor by submitting this application (click on "Apply to be a mentor").

    Thank you for your consideration,

    Faith Charlton
