Good morning colleagues,
Are you looking for a new professional development opportunity or a way to service the archival community? Why not serve on the SAA Visual Materials Section Steering Committee? Now is your chance to run for office and/or nominate a colleague! This year we have two opportunities are available:
- Chair-Elect -- Serves one year as assistant to the Chair and then the next year is Section Chair!
- Member-At-Large -- Serves a three-year term and simply assists where needed.
For more information on the roles of these two offices, please see the Standing Rules (https://www2.archivists.org/groups/visual-materials-section/standing-rules) and/or ask yours truly (maharper@austin.utexas.edu) or Sandra Varry (mailto:varry.sandra@gmail.com), this year's Elections Work Group.
To make a nomination, please just make sure the person is interested in running and willing to serve if elected, then e-mail either your or the person's name and contact information to me before June 15. What we'll need to populate the ballot are:
- Candidate's name
- Job title and institution (if applicable)
- VMS position sought
- Brief biography and candidate statement (1-2 paragraphs)
Thank you for your interest, and we look forward to hearing from you!
