DESCRIPTION

“Research and Innovation Wednesdays” is a three-part series in July that will introduce you to the many ways in which SAA supports research and innovation in the profession. The series begins on July 14 with “Research & Innovation @ SAA: An Introduction,” hosted by the SAA Committee on Research, Data, and Assessment (CORDA). Join us for brief overviews of initiatives by CORDA (including the new SAA Dataverse), the Research Forum, American Archivist, the SAA Foundation (and its grant program), and the SAA Archives. We’ll also welcome informal updates from SAA component groups on their research activities. You’ll leave this session with a much better idea of how you might engage in research and innovation that will benefit from (or contribute to!) SAA’s efforts.

And be sure to save the dates of Wednesday, July 21, and Wednesday, July 28, 1:00 – 4:30 pm CT, for Parts 1 and 2 of SAA’s Research Forum, “Foundations and Innovations.” The Research Forum is SAA’s annual opportunity to discuss, debate, plan, organize, evaluate, and motivate research projects and initiatives.
