    Hi SAA members,

The Encoded Archival Standards (EAS) Section is still looking for candidates to run for our open co-chair position. The successful candidate for co-chair would serve a two-year term from 2022 to 2024 -- acting as junior co-chair for the first year of the term and senior co-chair for the second year.

Please feel free to email current co-chairs Bo Doub (bdoub@usc.edu) and Irene Gates (gatesbir@gmail.com) with any questions regarding the nominations/election process or the current and anticipated activities of the Section.

The EAS Section has a great group of steering committee members and the co-chair role isn't a huge time commitment. The co-chairs' responsibilities generally consist of scheduling brief check-in meetings with steering committee members every other month; planning for the annual section meeting; communicating with EAS members about webinars, tools, and other resources relevant to encoded archival standards; and keeping in touch with the Technical Subcommittee on Encoded Archival Standards (TS-EAS) re: ongoing standards initiatives.

Please let us know if you are interested in running for our open co-chair role and thanks for considering.
    Bo Doub, Senior Co-Chair
    Irene Gates, Junior Co-Chair
Betts Coup and Michele Combs, Steering Committee members
