The Radical Archive Project invites you to the next session of the Rooted in Memory II Workshop Series.

    Archival Triage with Darby Kurtz
    October 22, 2026 | 1:00 to 2:00 PM ET | Zoom
Free and open to the public | Live captions provided

For this session, we're joined by Darby Kurtz, MA, Special Collections Curator at the University of Nebraska Medical Center's McGoogan Health Sciences Library and lead collections manager for the Wolf P. Wolfensberger Archive. Previously, as Collections Manager at the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum, she cared for a vast collection of art, historical objects, textiles, and natural history materials. Her research focuses on artifact care, IDEA, and emergency preparedness in the medical humanities. Together, we'll talk through risk assessment, prioritization, and emergency response, and how we preserve the record in moments of crisis, including the one carried in the body.

Rooted in Memory is a space for institutional archivists and memory workers of all kinds to come together around a shared topic. Each conversation is facilitated by Spelman College students and alumnae, and this session will be led by Basil Mann and Asia Rackley.
