    Please excuse cross-postings!

Descriptive Notes is issuing a call for its next series on Specialized Description in the archives.

Do you work with military or religious collections that require special types of description to best represent the materials? Do you regularly describe Congressional, legal, or judicial collections that have distinct descriptive rules? Have you worked with a collection that deserved unique call-outs in a finding aid or catalog record? Do you work at a repository that welcomes researchers with specific interests, requiring non-standard descriptive practices for your collections? We'd love to hear about your processes and your projects!

For our Specialized Description series, please pitch us a short description of your submission idea by September 23. We also always welcome posts on a rolling basis for our existing series, as well as any other articles, announcements and updates, shared resources, and visual content relating to issues of archival description. We would like to hear from you about your case studies, projects, collaborations, and any conversations that would be of interest to readers.

Send all pitches to SAAdescription@gmail.com. You can view previous posts here: saadescription.wordpress.com.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions. We look forward to your submissions!
