The College & University Archives Section Steering Committee invites you to join us for our next coffee chat! We will meet on June 16, 2022, at 12pm CST, 1pm EST. Please see below for the link to the chat.Tiffany Cole, C&UA steering committee member and archivist at James Madison University, and Kate Morris, Head of Special Collections at James Madison University, will lead an informal discussion on major library renovations, expansions, and building and facilities projects.Topics will include working with architects, balancing historic design and accessibility, moving collections and staff, storage and shelving, and adapting service models to meet researcher and staff needs during the renovation.
We welcome members of all sections to join us particularly if you have undergone a renovation, work in a recently renovated space, have a renovation on the horizon, or are passionate about library spaces. In our over two years of chats, we have learned many lessons, not the least, that archives practice truly transcends section boundaries. We have experienced much-added value when non-C&UA section members have contributed. Whether you want to contribute or simply listen in, we're happy to hear from all members.
