The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee is seeking respondents to its Community Input Survey. The survey seeks to better understand the current landscape of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) across galleries, libraries, archives and museums in Canada and the United States. The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee invites full-time employees of galleries, libraries, archives, and museums (GLAM) to participate in a survey about the current landscape of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Building on a survey conducted four years ago (Dos & Scoulas, 2023), this effort will help identify changes in institutional approaches, available resources, and the field's evolving needs.

The survey will collect information about institutional approaches to DEI, employee programs and professional development opportunities, perspectives on DEI in the GLAM community, and the field's most pressing DEI-related needs–if any. Your responses will help ARL better understand the current landscape and identify trends, challenges, and opportunities that can inform future programming, resources, and collaborations. 

All responses are completely anonymous. No personally identifiable information is collected and no attempt will be made to associate a set of responses with any individual. All data is stored in ARL's secure systems and will only be accessed by individuals directly involved in the project. 

The survey is estimated to take up to 10 minutes to complete. Participation is voluntary, and there are no anticipated risks or direct benefits associated with completing the survey. Please feel free to share this invitation with colleagues in your network. Survey responses will be collected through October 11, 2026.
