    Please see below for the call for nominations for the Collection Management Tools Section. This upcoming year promises to have many opportunities to get involved and shape the future work of the section. I'm happy to answer any questions interested persons may have! Please consider nominating yourself or a colleague!

    The Collection Management Tools Section Steering Committee seeks nominations for the following leadership positions:


    Vice-chair / Chair-Elect and two Steering Committee members. Descriptions are below.

    The Vice-chair / Chair Elect: Serves as acting Chair in the absence of the Chair and participates as a member of the Steering Committee in all its activities. A new Vice-chair shall be elected at each annual meeting of the section and shall serve for one year as Vice-chair, succeeding automatically to the office of Chair for the subsequent year.

    The Steering Committee directs and coordinates activities of the section and approves appointments made by the Chair, including ex-officio appointments and when vacancies occur. All Steering Committee members shall have demonstrated experience in utilizing a collection management tool. Committee members help establish projects to work on through the year, and plan the annual section meeting. A member of the Steering Committee shall take minutes at the annual section meeting, and assist the Chair in editing the minutes to be posted on the CMT Section website. Steering Committee members make a commitment to serve for at least two years.

    Please consider nominating yourself, or a colleague, to stand for election this summer. Elected individuals will take office at the close of the Section meeting on August 3, 2019. Individuals should be members in good standing of the Society of American Archivists and the Collection Management Tools Section. All candidates must declare their intentions to stand for election by emailing chowel29@uncc.edu or cwel@umich.edu or no later than Friday, June 1, 2019, and should submit their job title, a brief biography, and a statement to voters (also due to the Committee by June 1). Additionally, candidates have the option to include a photograph of themselves, if desired.
