Please join the SAA Students and New Archives Professionals Section for the next #snaprt Twitter chat on Wednesday, July 24, at 8 pm ET. Join us as we discuss conferencing as a student and new archives professional. This chat will provide tips and tricks for those attending the SAA annual meeting in Austin, Texas, but is also intended to provide insight into conferencing generally.
We welcome everyone to join or keep up with our chat using the #snaprt hashtag on Twitter. The SNAP Section Twitter account (@SNAP_Section) will pose the following questions:
- SAA's (@archivists_org) annual meeting in Austin, Texas is just days away! If you're attending, what are you most looking forward to at this year's conference?
- Attending conferences is/can be expensive. What resources are available for students and new professionals who may have little or no institutional support to attend conferences or do professional development?
- What are some ways to network with colleagues and/or potential employers at conferences? What are other ways to be involved and put oneself out there?
- Beyond SAA's annual conference, what other conferences (big or small, allied organizations or not) do you recommend and why?
- Do you have any last words of advice for first-time attendees of SAA's annual meeting?
