Call for Comments: Tragedy Response Toolkit Drafts

  • 1.  Call for Comments: Tragedy Response Toolkit Drafts

    Posted Jun 11, 2019 04:07 PM

The Society of American Archivists Tragedy Response Initiative Task Force has drafted templates that will be publicly accessible for archival response when tragedy occurs within our communities. Our hope is that providing these templates will help offset some of the stress to those charged with archiving material created as a result of tragic situations involving loss of life within the community.

We would appreciate your feedback on the drafts and best practices created. We value your opinion and want to ensure that we are providing usable and helpful documents for a wide range of responders. The documents will be available for review through June 21. The drafts, along with commenting or editing suggestions are available through the attached link.

We thank you for your important contributions to the outcome of this work. If you have any questions or additional comments please feel free to contact Lisa Calahan, task force chair; her contact information is listed in the "Introduction to Templates and Documents" link.

This work cannot be completed without community input. We are deeply appreciative to all of our colleagues who have helped shape this work and their willingness to share examples and converse with us about their experiences.
