  • 1.  SAA Mentors Needed!

    Posted Aug 10, 2020 04:15 PM

    Dear colleagues,

The Society of American Archivists' Mentoring Program is currently seeking additional mentoring volunteers! The Mentoring Program brings together members with shared interests in various aspects of the archival profession. The goal is to cultivate career development and communication between members with areas of expertise and members who want to build their knowledge within those areas.

Think you don't have any expertise to share? Some of our colleagues waiting for mentors are just getting started in the profession and are looking for advice on schools, classes, career trajectory, resume development and interviewing skills.

There are also those who have interest in the following areas:

    Archival processing
    Business/corporate archives
    Collection management
    Community archives
    Digital archives
    Digital preservation
    Film/audiovisual archives
    Government archives
    Job search
    Media preservation
    Metadata and description
    Navigating Tenure
    Network building
    Privacy and confidentiality
    Visual materials
    Writing and publishing

Please consider signing up to be a mentor by submitting this application (click on "Apply to be a mentor").

    Thank you for your consideration,

    Lydia Tang
