The Finding Aids Award Committee invites nominations for the MARAC Finding Aids Award by December 31, 2021. The Finding Aids Award is given yearly to recognize outstanding achievement in the preparation of finding aids by institutions within the MARAC region. Due to COVID-19, the Finding Aids Award Committee did not seek finding aid nominations in 2020. Therefore, the committee is also seeking submissions for the 2020 award cycle. The nominated finding aid must have been first made available to the public between January 1 and December 31, 2020 or January 1 and December 31, 2021, depending on the award cycle.
Each submission should include the URL or six hard copies of the finding aid (if only available in print), and a 1-2 page nomination letter (not to exceed 500 words) that addresses the finding aid's exceptional qualities and/or discusses elements not readily apparent from examination of the finding aid itself. Submission guidelines can be found at https://www.marac.info/finding-aids-award
Please send your submission packet and direct any questions to Committee Senior Co-Chair Tiffany Cole at coletw@jmu.edu.
