Introducing the New England Archivists Event Planning Accessibility Checklist

    Dear colleagues,

The New England Archivists Inclusion and Diversity Committee is pleased to share our event planning accessibility checklist, which we created to document best practices and recommendations for accessibility planning for our conferences and professional events.  In drafting the checklist, we consulted several accessibility planning standards and similar checklists from peer organizations, and tried to consider aspects of accessibility and inclusion that are often not accounted for when planning professional events, including neurodiversity, invisible disabilities, gender identity, and dietary restrictions. The checklist is intended as a starting point rather than a prescriptive list of requirements, and we hope that it will promote thoughtful discussion and action about accessibility in our profession.

The link to the checklist is here: https://www.newenglandarchivists.org/resources/Documents/Meeting%20Programs/NEA-Accessibility-Checklist.pdf

The checklist is a living document, and the IDC welcomes your feedback.
