    The Syracuse University Libraries invites applications from creative and inquisitive individuals to support the work of our newly-formed Department of Digital Stewardship. We are currently seeking a Metadata Strategies Librarian, a Digital Preservation Librarian, and a Digital Library Program Content Coordinator to work with our small – but dedicated – cross-organizational Digital Library Program team to produce, manage, create access to, and preserve our digital content across the variety of platforms and services that comprise our digital library infrastructure. 


    Metadata Strategies Librarian
     

    The Metadata Strategies Librarian will focus on creating, maintaining, and enriching metadata for digital objects and collections managed by the Libraries. The incumbent will also work with cataloging, archival processing, and Libraries' IT staff to ensure the smooth transfer of data between various systems to promote use of unique resources.

    Digital Preservation Librarian 

    The Digital Preservation Librarian will lead the Libraries' digital preservation efforts to ensure long-term preservation and persistent access to the Libraries' unique digitized and born-digital content, act as the Libraries' expert in digital preservation practices and processes, and serve as the platform manager for the Libraries' digital preservation system (Preservica).

    DLP Content Coordinator 

    The Digital Library Program's Content Coordinator provides broad support to the DLP, primarily through assistance in processing/ingesting files and the application of appropriate metadata. The position also helps maintain repository data and structures as assigned, as well as collection-level metadata and associated project information. This position may also perform metadata remediation as needed and accessibility remediation as requested.

    Applications for the two Librarian positions will be considered for any rank, commensurate with their experience. The minimum starting salaries for the various ranks of Librarian are: 

    • Assistant Librarian: $50,000/year
    • Senior Assistant Librarian: $55,000/year
    • Associate Librarian: $65,000/year
    • Librarian: $75,000/year

    The Digital Library Program's Content Coordinator is a non-Librarian, professional staff position in the Libraries with a starting minimum salary of $44,000/year.
