Archival Landscapes
IAAS Seminar Series Archival Landscapes is a virtual seminar series of the
International Archival Affairs Section of the Society of American Archivists. In each seminar, an international guest speaker introduces participants to the issues and advancements in their local context, describing the history, operating environment and unique aspects of archival practice in their country. The seminar series is hosted by the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies, Queens College, City University of New York.
Fall seminar: POLAND Guest speaker: Dr. Magdalena Wiśniewska-Drewniak

Magdalena Wiśniewska-Drewniak is an assistant professor (academic teacher and researcher) at the Faculty of History, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland. At the same university she graduated from archival science and records management (bachelor and master's degrees) and defended her doctoral thesis on community archives in Poland, on which she published a book entitled "Otherwise it disappears. Community archives in Poland - multiple case study" / "Inaczej to zniknie. Archiwa społeczne w Polsce - wielokrotne studium przypadku" (2019). Apart from community archives, her areas of interest are archival theory, archival science methodology, and new trends in archival research. Currently she teaches courses on archival arrangement and description, community archives, international archival landscape, and introduction to archives for international students. Website:
