Just a reminder that as you work towards the annual meeting in Austin, that you think about what fun or interesting items that you might be able to pack and bring along for the Silent Auction! And a great auction requires great bidders too--don't feel bad if you are unable to donate an item--just please come by the auction tables and check out the awesome items for bid!
Thank you to all who have already submitted some great items! We'll have hand thrown stoneware, handcrafted wooden items, mini quilt, coffee mugs, local & craft beers & spirits, repository T-shirts, coffees, BBQ sauces, hand crafted shawl & fingerless gloves, glassware, greeting cards, pencils, bobble head, and more!

The SAA Preservation Section invites you to contribute an item for our annual silent auction to be held on Sunday and Monday, August 4th and 5th at ARCHIVES*RECORDS 2019 at the JW Marriott Austin in Austin, Texas.
The silent auction benefits the National Disaster Recovery Fund for Archives (NDRFA). This fund was established in 2005 after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and is used to support the recovery of archival collections from major disasters, regardless of region or repository type.
We are looking for items from either repositories or regions that you feel might be interesting to others. The only parameter that we have is that the item MUST be able to be packed in either a carry-on or checked bag.
Popular items from past auctions include:
• Regional food and drink (alcohol is quite welcome, and very popular!)
• Repository T-Shirt, tote bag, etc.
• Art
• Handmade items (hand knitted and handcrafted bags are especially popular)
• Repository publications (though heavier books are less popular and harder to take home!)
Please fill out the Google Form to commit a donation to the auction. We will review all submissions and compile a list of donations so we know what to expect. We will check in with you again closer to the conference.
We ask that you bring the donated item with you to the conference. If you are unable to attend the conference but would still like to donate, please tell us below and we will make other arrangements!
If you have any questions about the auction, please contact Janet Carleton at carleton@ohio.edu.
