Dear Colleagues,
The SAA Description Section seeks submissions for the upcoming issue of its newsletter, Descriptive Notes.
Descriptive Notes welcomes articles, announcements and updates, information on shared resources, and other content related to archival description.
For this issue, we are particularly interested in submissions that address archival description in light of the current global pandemic and the continued struggle to end the structural violence enacted on Black lives and communities. What role can archival description play in reparative work, effecting systemic change, and memory keeping for historically underdocumented communities? What role have descriptive projects played in remote work, or in keeping people employed while we sheltered at home? We would like to hear from you about projects, collaborations, and any conversations that speak to these questions.
