  • 1.  Webinar (Wednesday, April 28): "Building a National Finding Aid Network" overview and update

    Posted Apr 09, 2021 03:49 PM
Do you work for or volunteer at a library, archive, museum, historical society, or other US-based organization that collects and stewards archival materials? Are you interested in providing broader access to your collections, by publishing descriptions of those collections (or “finding aids”) online?

Please join us for an overview and update on "Building a National Finding Aid Network" (NAFAN), a 2-year IMLS-funded research and demonstration project rooted in the goal of providing inclusive, comprehensive, and persistent access to finding aids by laying the foundation for a national finding aid network available to all contributors and researchers. Learn more about the project goals and activities, and how you can engage in and help shape the vision for a national network.

    When: Wednesday, April 28
    Time: 1:00-2:00pm Pacific / 2:00-3:00pm Mountain / 3:00-4:00pm Central / 4:00-5:00pm Eastern

This Zoom webinar will be recorded and made available via the NAFAN project website.

    About NAFAN
The NAFAN project is coordinated by the California Digital Library (CDL), in collaboration with Chain Bridge Group, OCLC, Shift Collective, and the University of Virginia Library (UVA), and in close partnership with statewide/regional finding aid aggregators and LYRASIS (ArchivesSpace). NAFAN is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, through grant LG-246349-OLS-20. The IMLS is the primary source of federal support for the nation’s libraries and museums.
