    Posted Aug 25, 2020 04:28 PM
The Society of American Archivists' Membership Committee's Mentoring Subcommittee is seeking 3-4 volunteer members to help run the SAA Mentoring Program. The SAA Mentoring Program brings together members with shared interests in mentoring relationships.

    Workload:
    - The Mentoring Subcommittee meets for an hour once every one to two months, depending on the amount of coordination required.
    - Subcommittee members sign up for a month or two to match program applicants based on subject interests; notify mentors and protégés of matches; seek feedback on the program; and conduct outreach and publicity efforts. Workload during this month/months is estimated to be approximately 6 hours during the month.
    - Subcommittee members may also collaborate to develop new initiatives such as a mentoring cohort track and other ways to continue to improve meeting the mentoring needs of SAA membership.

If you would like to volunteer for a two-year term as a member of the SAA Mentoring Subcommittee, please submit this form with a brief statement of interest by the end of the day Friday, September 4. The Statement of Interest should address why you wish to participate on the Subcommittee and if you have ideas for projects the Subcommittee should pursue to better meet the mentoring needs of the membership. Particular consideration will be given to people who express interest and ideas in the cohort model, Diversity and Inclusion, and early career member engagement. All applicants will be notified of a decision by Friday, September 11th.

Please note that Mentoring Subcommittee volunteers must be members of SAA. If you have any further questions, please contact the SAA Mentoring Program at saamentoring@gmail.com.

    Thanks for your consideration,
Lydia Tang, on behalf of the Mentoring Subcommittee
    SAA Membership Committee
