The Records Management Section seeks a diverse slate of candidates to fill the following three-year leadership positions:
Vice-Chair/Chair Elect – 1 seat (The office of Vice-Chair/Chair Elect serves the first year as Vice-Chair, then one year as Chair, then one year as immediate Past Chair.)
Steering Committee Member – 3 seats (3-year appointment)
Early Career Member 2 seats (1 year appointment)
Please consider nominating yourself or a colleague to stand for election this summer. We value a variety of perspectives and encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds, institutions, professional settings, and levels of experience. Candidates must be members in good standing of the Society of American Archivists and the Records Management Section. Attendance at SAA's annual meeting is not mandatory for consideration, but steering committee members are expected to attend monthly conference calls, to make regular contributions to the section blog, The Schedule, and to participate in other section initiatives. Our election will be held online in June, and the terms of office begin at the close of the SAA annual meeting in August.
We are also looking to recruit two early career members to serve one-year terms. These candidates can be enrolled in graduate school or be in their first three years of professional work. This new position on the RMS steering committee will afford new professionals an opportunity to receive mentorship and exercise leadership while participating in and coordinating projects for the section.
