    LSU's School of Library & Information Science is hiring an Archival Studies Postdoctoral Researcher for the Virtual Footlocker Project (VFP), an IMLS-funded research project. The VFP Postdoctoral Researcher is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and will be appointed as a 12-month position. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in library & information science, information studies, archives, or another associated field of study. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate prior experience with qualitative or mixed methods research, coding analysis, and digital curation or preservation research. Ideal candidates will be proficient with SPSS, NVivo (or similar software), and Microsoft Office and possess strong theoretical training, and successful archival research experience. Additionally, ideal candidates will be attentive to detail, possess efficient time management skills, and be able to work both within a project group and independently. Hiring priority will be granted to veterans and members from underrepresented groups. Position will report to Dr. Edward Benoit.

    Job Responsibilities

    30%: Qualitative and quantitative data analysis of focus group transcripts and survey data. Mapping technical requirements for digital preservation based on existing standards, identifying challenges, and developing a functional framework for initial protocol design.

    30%: Development of veteran-specific digital preservation modeling, finalizing the protocol design and disseminating the project findings to stakeholders; identify existing open source tools, such as APIs, that could be adapted to meet the technical requirements; update and finalize the best practices and protocols.

    30%: Develop a workshop curriculum for archivists centered on the protocol and best practices for veteran outreach.

    10%: Supervise Graduate Assistant
