Greetings!
The Electronic Records Section (ERS) and the Web Archiving Section (WAS) will host a joint section meeting during SAA's 2021 virtual conference to encourage dialogue among our respective members and reflect the overlap between electronic records and web archiving workflows, personnel, and challenges. The ERS and WAS Steering Committees invite presentations of 5-minute lightning talks on the topic of repairing gaps in the historical record through web archiving and born-digital collecting.
The deadline for lightning talk submissions is Friday, April 9, 2021.
Potential themes can include but are not limited to:
- Underrepresented communities as collecting area focuses of born-digital collections
- Projects or collections that highlight social justice issues
- Community-driven collecting and preservation of born-digital content
- Ethical issues related to collecting and preserving web and born-digital content
- Post-custodial approaches and projects for born-digital content
- Using web archives and born-digital archives to repair the historical record
