Descriptive Notes: call for submissions

  • 1.  Descriptive Notes: call for submissions

    Posted Jul 19, 2021 04:05 PM

    Dear Colleagues,

Descriptive Notes is issuing a call for its next series: Remote Description. How did your workplace adapt to distance work during the pandemic? We would like to hear from you about any descriptive projects you undertook or adapted, such as redescription, transcription, or metadata projects.

As the SAA Annual Meeting draws near, we would also like to hear from you for our Conference Dispatches series. This is an ongoing series reflecting on experiences attending, planning, or presenting at archival conferences. We are especially interested in hearing from students and new archival professionals.

For our Remote Description series, please pitch us a short description of your submission idea by Monday, August 2nd. We also always welcome posts on a rolling basis for our Inclusive Description series, as well as any other articles, announcements and updates, shared resources, and visual content relating to issues of archival description. We would like to hear from you about your case studies, projects, collaborations, and any conversations that would be of interest to readers.

Send all pitches to SAAdescription@gmail.com. You can view previous posts here: saadescription.wordpress.com.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions. We look forward to your submissions!

    Best,
Lori Dedeyan, on behalf of the Descriptive Notes Editorial Team
