SAA Career Counselors serve year-long terms (beginning March 1st, 2022) with the possibility of renewal. As an SAA Career Counselor, you'll have the opportunity to offer guidance and support to emerging and developing professionals. Counselors are expected to commit a minimum of three (3) hours per month on a flexible schedule and will provide a mix of mock interviews, resume review sessions, and career advising sessions. Sessions are one-on-one and last between thirty minutes and one hour. To volunteer for a year-long term as a Career Counselor, please apply today

In our selection of applicants, we aim to create a cohort of individuals with varied professional expertise in the archives field. We also seek counselors with a wide array of life experiences. Individuals with disabilities, people of color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and those with other marginalized identities are all encouraged to apply.

Applications close at 11:59 p.m. EST on January 16th, 2022 (extended from January 7th, 2022). Applicants will be notified of results in early February and should be prepared to begin their year-long terms in March 2022.
