    Hi all,

I'm pleased to share with you that the new Accessibility and Disability Section is up on SAA Connect – with many thanks to all of you for your support through this process!  To join, please log into SAA Connect, click on the "My Groups" tab on their SAA profile, and opt in for this group!  The SAA website microsite is currently under construction.

Also, after much consultation with Felicia and other individuals who have experience starting new groups, it sounds like establishing a provisional appointed leadership team is the recommended path forward.  The goal of this 1-year appointed group will be to establish the Standing Rules/Bylaws, mission statement, and pilot the first year of this new section's leadership, in preparation for a proper election in this coming year.  Because of the intense effort required to get a new section established, this may be an intensive time/energy commitment for this first year.  Any SAA member, including students and new professionals, are welcome to apply.  We are seeking candidates who are passionate about accessibility and disability in the archives realm, who will strive for transparency and community engagement in this process.  If interested, please submit your information by Friday, September 13th: https://forms.gle/LVPyQ8QNABMNvwWT9  If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact me!
