The SAA Preservation Section invites you to participate in our annual silent auction to be held on Sunday and Monday, August 4th and 5th at ARCHIVES*RECORDS 2019 at the JW Marriott Austin in Austin, Texas.
The silent auction benefits the National Disaster Recovery Fund for Archives (NDRFA). This fund was established in 2005 after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and is used to support the recovery of archival collections from major disasters, regardless of region or repository type.
This year's auction schedule (also on microsite)
- Donation drop-off (Auction table near registration desk)
- Saturday August 3, 3:15-5pm (before plenary)
- Sunday August 4, 7:30-9am
- Auction open!
- Sunday August 4, 9am-5:30 pm
- Monday August 5, 8am-12:30 pm. Last bids must be in by 12:30 on the dot!
- Pick Up & Payment
- We will contact the highest bidders 12:30-1pm on Monday via text message.
- Winners may pick up their items 12:30-5pm Monday or 8-10am Tuesday at the auction table
- Pay at SAA registration desk 12:30-5pm Monday or 8-10am Tuesday
We are also soliciting volunteers to staff the table. Shifts are 1.5 hrs long throughout the above periods. It's a great way to meet a variety of archivists in a controlled environment! (Who needs small talk--we're pitching auction items! At least that's how it works for me.) Sign up here.
