Dear Archivists:
I am pleased to share that we have completed the first season of the American Catholic Historical Association's Hidden Catholic Collections series. Over the course of the fall, we were able to highlight fourteen different collections held in Catholic archives across the country on ACHA social media. The weekly posts have now been collected on a page on the ACHA website, creating a permanent resource for students, scholars, and archivists. I invite you to check them out here:

https://achahistory.org/category/hidden-catholic-collections To continue raising awareness about Catholic archival collections, I am planning a second season of the #Hidden Catholic Collections series to begin in January 2021. The premise remains to shine the spotlight each week on a collection within a different Catholic archive that archivists feel researchers should be using more. The goal is to offer a range of meaningful collections, accompanied by striking visuals, and a link so that researchers can find out more information.
I invite you to nominate a collection for the series. The collection can either be from your own archive or one in another archive. I am particularly interested in representing the diversity of Catholic archives as much as the diversity of Catholics. If you are interested in participating, please email me directly at

NOTE: SCUA and the NJ Reading Room are physically closed but we are offering virtual reference services at scua_ref@libraries.rutgers.edu. We appreciate your patience at this difficult time.
